At Minto Apartment REIT, we’re proud to share that last year we exceeded our energy reduction target, cutting consumption by 14% compared to our 2019 baseline — that’s 26.8 million ekWh saved!
We also reduced carbon emissions by 16%, thanks to smart investments in:
• AI-powered Building Automation Systems
• Duct sealing for improved airflow
• Garage lighting controls that balance safety and efficiency
These efforts are more than numbers — they’re part of our commitment to building a resilient, sustainable future for our residents, communities, and planet.
Estimated annual energy savings from 2024 projects: 2.38 million ekWh

The results speak volumes:
• 7,000 applications received
• 70 new residents moved in within weeks
• Occupancy milestone achieved
Five departments—construction, operations, site management, marketing, and leasing—collaborated to transform this vision into vibrant homes that strengthen the community.
We were grateful to celebrate this milestone with our City Housing partners, who shared their appreciation for our team’s pride, commitment, and the high-quality affordable rentals now available to Torontonians.

• Empowering Our People: We achieved a new high in employee engagement, placing us in the 70th percentile of Gallup’s global benchmark, and launched new programs to foster leadership development and inclusion.
• Advancing Environmental Action: We have successfully reduced energy use and carbon emissions across our portfolio since 2019 and are sharing key insights from major projects like the Minto Yorkville Deep Retrofit to support broader industry climate action.
